Aircon not cold on long drives

Encountered this problem of aircon not being cold on long drives to KL for example, especially if the day is hot and sunny.

But everyday start the car, aircon is super cold.

Any idea what is wrong?

its just normal, with the weather getting hotter.

If we install a better solarfilm, will it help?

Perhaps it helps, aircon also by temperature one.. so if the weather is super hot, the chances of the aircon is also not cool.

Sent for routine servicing, they found out the compressor leaking thus changing to a brand new one, perhaps a compatible one for $530 with labour.

so does it solve ur hot problem? if its compressor leaking, your aircon wont be cool ion the first place. workshop may be trying to sell you hard to earn your money.

Still have not try it out on long drives.

Apparently it is not a new compressor, they just recondition my current one. I felt cheated in a way but damage has been done. The only thing that I need is to test whether the aircon improved. Will update again thanks.

if it is a recon to the current compressor. Than i confirmed that you are being cheated already. A recon work usually about 200+. All workshop needs to do is to replce the magnetic clutch in the compressor. For this case you are cheated by the workshop for $530. is a day light robbery. If you say is a brand new compressor at 530 than it sounds reasonable. Consult here for opinion next time before you do any major repair works. Lesson learnt.
